Why Ananya no longer feels stuck in her life as a stay-at-home mom

My name is Ananya, and I’m a 30-year-old stay-at-home mom from Delhi. With a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old, life was hectic. Sure, I was very busy, and I barely slept, but for some reason, I was still looking for things to do. I guess I wanted some personal time to explore the things that interest me without having to leave my kids at home.

One day, a neighbor and a friend of mine told me about trading. I didn’t take it seriously, but I was intrigued enough to do some research and even signed up for a demo account at Binomo. The first few weeks were tough, and I made some mistakes. This trial run taught me that scalping or anything short-term doesn’t suit my style. With my kids always distracting me, I went with longer-term trades, which gave me more time to analyze the market. And so, with that, I started live trading. My approach didn’t offer prospects of quick results, so I waited to see how my trades would develop over time. As weeks turned into months, I started to see some profits.

But don’t get me wrong, there were setbacks, too. One time, I remember losing on a bad trade, and coincidentally, I forgot to set my stop loss. It was a painful lesson, but hey, what can you do except learn from it? At least, this mistake rewired my brain to always manage my risk, no matter how confident I am in a trade. There was another pivotal moment in my “career” (trading journey would be more appropriate, actually) when I realized the importance of having a plan. I would often make decisions based on the latest market news. This worked about half the time, but I realized that this approach wasn’t sustainable, and I’ve since reworked it. 

You can see that it was quite a process with many adjustments, but it was also so much fun. As challenging and risky as it is, I finally felt that I was contributing to my family not just as a mother but also as a financially stable partner. I no longer feel trapped in my apartment. Even though I’m trading from home, I don’t feel isolated anymore, and I’m always learning something new about the markets.
